210 The Intersection Between Learning, Performance & Optimization

4:15 PM - 5:15 PM ET / 1:15 PM - 2:15 PM PT Wednesday, October 26

Montego DE

Learning teams often receive requests for training without having the opportunity to provide consultation/gap analysis to identify whether the issue is truly a training need or if a non-training solution would be more appropriate. Post-training reports from the client may indicate minimal change in employee behavior as a result of the training. In other words, there is a performance problem that remains unresolved, despite favorable survey and knowledge assessment results. Why? Not all performance problems can be solved with training.

In this session, you will learn how to integrate a simple performance consulting framework that moves you from taking training orders to becoming a trusted partner in helping the business reach its desired performance goals. This means you are moving from a design mindset to a performance mindset. You will explore how learning departments can not only design and develop various training solutions, but analyze performance gaps and recommend solutions that are evidence-based and optimize processes along the way. We will look at important steps to help design and develop performance-focused solutions and measure intervention effectiveness to ensure the performance gap is closed. You will explore how the performance model relies on a strong feedback loop, good use of data, and evidence-based decision making. These skills are the foundation of building and strengthening client partnerships that move you from taking training requests to being a business partner.
