111 Creating Engaging Experiences for a Hybrid Work Environment
1:45 PM - 2:45 PM ET / 10:45 AM - 11:45 AM PT Wednesday, October 26
St Croix AB
Hours of VILT and longer-form eLearning is still the norm, more than two years into our new normal. In a recent global L&D study, respondents identified concerns about learner engagement, participation, and attendance in digital and virtual solutions as a result of rapidly assembled and converted in-house designs. Many L&D professionals report that their virtual/digital designs are less effective than their face-to-face counterparts. Learners' time has never been more at a premium, and things aren't likely to "go back to the way they used to be." It's time for us as an industry to deliver world-class, innovative experiences that align with the needs of our hybrid workforces.
In this session, you'll learn strategies and techniques around microlearns, flipped classroom experiences, and social learning that can be woven into a digital frame and layered in group time only when it matters most, and in a repeatable way that produces the necessary performance outcomes. You’ll learn that the hybrid environment does not have to be a barrier to building and implementing quality learning experiences that work—in fact, it has created many new opportunities! You'll leave with the templates and tools to put it all to work and share with your team the minute you get back to the office.
In this session, you will learn:
- To factor in the Learn, Apply, Reflect, Refine approach to create modern, resonant learning designs
- How to create modern-modal learning experiences that fit into a busy work environment where it's easy to be distracted, multitask, or just "watch the recording later"
- To build innovative designs that support the needs of all learners when some are on-site some of the time, some are never on-site, and others are on-site all the time
- To design group experiences that make the most of collective group time and draw your learners in ways that are similar to a more traditional face-to-face format
Technology discussed:
Traditional LMS platforms, SCORM packaged microlearns, multi-form curated content, MS Teams, Zoom
