105 Managing Creative Teams Remotely: Fostering Trust, Candor, and Community

1:45 PM - 2:45 PM ET / 10:45 AM - 11:45 AM PT Wednesday, October 26

Montego DE

Remote work has many benefits for employees and organizations but it also poses new challenges, particularly in creative industries like eLearning where ideation, trust, and collaboration play a key role in fostering innovation and problem solving. Addressing these new dynamics means that leaders must expand their toolboxes in order to answer important questions such as: How do I build trust with my employees in online and remote settings? How do I help my team feel together when we are physically far apart? How do I cultivate the safety and trust required to support collaboration and candor? As a leader, what do I need to prioritize to support creative work in a remote setting?

This session will provide leaders with research-based best practices for supporting eLearning professionals in remote settings. We will begin by exploring remote work trends, centering specifically the needs of employees and teams. Next, we will examine how leaders can identify meaningful employee moments for coaching, connection, and feedback. Lastly, we will look at some of the systems and processes leaders can put in place to ensure their teams feel a sense of safety, collaboration, and trust in the remote setting. Participants will walk away with helpful templates and resources to support leading creative teams in the remote workplace.

In this session, you will learn:

  • What remote employees and teams need to be engaged, satisfied, and productive
  • How to identify opportunities to increase trust and build psychological safety
  • How to optimize development systems and processes that support creative teams
  • How to infuse culture and connection among employees in the remote workplace

Technology discussed:

Microsoft Suite (OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams), project management software (Asana), video conferencing software (Zoom, Teams)
