109 Effective Campaigns for Continuous Learning

10:45 AM - 11:45 AM Wednesday, October 20

Supporting effective performance has become even more challenging as competition for our learners' attention increases. A successful learning campaign helps get enticing, incremental bits of new learning (or reminders of past learning) in front of learners in the flow of their workday—where performance actually happens. Drawing on elements of nudge theory, spaced learning theory, and behavioral economics, thoughtful learning campaigns can help L&D practitioners create a learning experience that is truly a process, not just an isolated event.

In this session you'll learn how to encourage the development of an everyday learning learning culture, how to move learning moments into the flow of employees work, and discover the alternatives to the course approach for workplace learning. We'll discuss how best to extend formal learning through approaches such as memory jogs, skill practice, and reflection opportunities. Through it all, you will learn how to better reinforce the understanding that learning is a process.

In this session, you will learn:

  • How to encourage a 'learning
  • To advance the understanding that learning is a process, not an event
  • How to get learning moments into the workflow
  • How to build non-'course' alternatives to workplace learning
  • To extend formal instructional activities with memory jogs, additional tidbits of information, opportunities for additional conversation or reflection, quick skill practice, etc.
