SELT202 EXPO: L&D is Getting (Really) Serious About Data

11:00 AM - 11:45 AM Thursday, October 21

L&D professionals are getting wise to the promise of fancy dashboards that look great but don't give actionable insights. Increasingly we're seeing more organizations maturing in their use of data and reaping the benefits of exploiting automation, AI, and machine learning. How can you progress your own strategy to reach this level?

Since the early days of simple platform reporting, the requirements of L&D have changed. Data is more important now than ever, but it is no more just about completions. L&D teams are looking for actionable insights into the trends within their own organizations. This is amplified by other ways that we can use data to enhance our learners' experience, from automation tools like creating learning campaigns and even using data for machine learning and AI in learning.

How does an organization progress their own learning data strategy? In this session we will explore Learning Pool's Learning Analytics Maturity Model. We will review this model and explore steps that an organization can take to increase their data maturity. Attendees will have access to the LAMM survey and will receive a report following the show that highlights the organization's learning data maturity. Based on our extensive experience in learning data and with global organizations, we will touch on what organizations are looking for in their reporting tools. And then we'll go further to show the power of automation and how the use of benchmarking and machine learning techniques can take the assessment of learning to the next level.

In this session you will learn:

  • Key data trends in business and how they apply to L&D
  • Applying a structured approach to your organization's data maturity
  • The Learning Analytics Maturity Model
  • Real world examples of automation and machine learning in practice
