P01 Design Thinking for Learning Innovation
8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Monday, October 23
St Thomas A
L&D is being challenged to prove its relevance and impact in an ever more volatile and dynamic world. Rather than creating isolated training events, modern L&D professionals are expected to initiate change campaigns and performance-based ecosystems. You may need to broaden your design and development methods and find new strategies to create effective content for these more complex challenges and expectations.
In this workshop, you will experience a hands-on and practical approach to creating innovative performance solutions using human-centered design. This process leverages key design thinking techniques, combined with performance-based consulting and action mapping. During the workshop, you will learn more about the processes involved in design thinking by co-designing a solution for your fellow L&D professionals, and you will use these techniques to craft an authentic experience with relevant outcomes.
In this session, you will learn:
- How to sell, prepare for, and run a design thinking process
- About audience empathy techniques and tools
- How to reframe a business challenge and create problem statements
- How to use card sorts and impact grids, and how to develop personas
- Best-practice ideation techniques
- How to implement low-fidelity prototypes to fail faster
- How to co-create journey maps and explore learner workflows
Audience:
Novice to intermediate designers, managers, directors, and
senior leaders (VP, CLO, executive, etc.).
Technology discussed
in this session:
Blended
learning, social and collaborative learning, digital ecosystems, VR, AR, and
