P14 Driving Performance Through Data
8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Tuesday, October 24
Andros B
Thanks to your systems, you have big data with the potential to answer big questions. Your LMS can tell you the people who took a class successfully, but the data usually contains duplication and errors. These restrictions can make it harder to answer the most important question: “Did class attendees ever apply what they learned to build performance and drive business improvement?” Finding, managing, and analyzing data is difficult.
In this workshop, you will learn how to decode, find, challenge, correlate, and leverage data to improve your outcomes. You will learn from outside examples—such as how, in 2015, the Polis Center in Indianapolis identified that even the most dangerous neighborhoods surprisingly had a “pocket of peace.” Their data could not explain why; it took people asking residents to discover the individuals helping neighbors who made these safe havens. By combining system data, good questioning approaches, and anecdotal data, you can learn amazing lessons to help your organization.
In this session, you will learn:
- How to build skills to ask deeper and more provocative questions about outcomes
- How to design realistic processes to leverage your LMS data to track performance growth
- How to correlate data points to uncover unpredictable results
- How to differentiate between data warehouses, data analytics, big data, business intelligence, data technologies, and knowledge management
Audience:
Novice designers, developers, project managers,
managers, directors, and senior leaders (VP, CLO, executive, etc.).
