P11 Producing and Directing eLearning Video
8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Tuesday, October 24
Martinique AB
Few people enjoy seeing or hearing themselves on video. Most regard editing their own audio or video as a form of cruel and unusual punishment. But if we want to capture authentic stories and informal content without the help of professional actors, we need to find ways to help people be brave enough to be in our videos and feel happy with the final results.
In this workshop, you’ll learn more about how to get the best results when putting people in your videos—whether they’re subject matter experts, co-workers, or yourself. You’ll get tips for how to prepare and coach people to be comfortable on camera (even if they don’t start out that way). You’ll also learn more about video production technology, which can help you ease people into being on camera by helping them look and sound their best. And while you may never convince people to love watching themselves on video, this workshop will help you and the people you’re working with create the video content your organization needs.
In this session, you will learn:
- How to prepare talent—or yourself—for a video shoot
- How to direct and coach someone else on camera to get the best performance from them
- How to use lights and microphones to help the people you film look and sound their best
- About tools and techniques you can use to create, capture, and curate video
Audience:
Novice to intermediate designers and managers.
Technology discussed
in this session:
Mobile video capture, microphones, professional
video lighting, cameras, teleprompters, green screens, and editing software.
