Capturing decent audio can be a challenge, as it relies on both tools and technique. Editing and enhancing audio is often difficult and dependent on audio hardware and software that can be very costly. As we develop engaging courseware that incorporates natural sounds (how-to or interviews on the plant floor) to scenarios involving multiple voices (a sales call or performance appraisal), getting the sound right is critical. Poor audio is distracting, and your learners will tune out.
In this hands-on session you will examine the power of Audacity for recording, editing, and audio post-production processing. You will edit, enhance, and output provided audio files that can be used in your favorite authoring tool. You will learn why sound is an important communication channel. You will leave this session understanding the power of Audacity in correcting and enhancing your audio recordings.
In this session, you will learn:
- How to naturally edit dialog
- How to overdub, build, and use multiple tracks in Audacity
- How to apply effects to selected audio
- How to output audio files to another file format
