High tech maintenance workers are generally hands-on learners. Training for the employees, however, is often provided by subject matter experts who talk for hours spewing out all the knowledge in their head. The learners obtain some valuable information but much of it is forgotten by the end of the day. There must be a better way.

In this session participants will explore a blended learning solution built from the ground up to emphasize that learning is not an event, but rather a process. You will examine ways to make training more effective using modalities that are implemented over time and reinforced with regular exercises and student teach-back sessions. You will leave this session prepared to build blended learning programs that are sustainable and educational.

In this session, you will learn:

  • What a blended learning course looks like
  • Why less is more
  • To design exercises that simulate real world activities
  • To design successful blended learning courses

Audience:
Novice and intermediate designers, developers, project managers, and managers

Technology discussed in this session:
Blended learning including vILT/video, self-study, assessment, eLearning, and ILT including collaborative exercises and teach-back methodologies.
