For decades, training has been one of the most common interventions used by organizations to improve the performance of their employees. Due to the cost of delivering training, organizations have adopted alternate ways to enable performance. One alternative is electronic performance support systems (EPSS).
The session will present recent research on the topic of performance support and practical guidelines on how you can optimize the use of EPSS in your organization. You will learn how to implement more highly integrated EPSS, and how to use less integrated systems if that’s not possible. You will explore how to vary the type of electronic performance support systems offered to users as they gain more expertise. You will discover how to provide EPSS and training interventions as complementary interventions, and see how this reduces (without eliminating) training.
