Performance support systems help workers by providing learning or performance resources at the moment they are needed. One of the challenges organizations have with performance support systems is that they do not accommodate the varying levels of skill sets and competence that exist in a workforce. The performance support that is needed by a novice is very different than the support that is needed by an experienced worker.
In this session you will explore how performance support solutions can be built so that workers receive only the type of support that is applicable to their level of competence. You will learn the importance of context in performance support, and review examples of performance support applications that recognize the context under which support is needed so that the most appropriate support resource can be provided. You will leave this session with an understanding of the various types of performance support that can be used and adapted for the varying levels of competence within a workforce.
