Making your new-hire onboarding program an exciting and interesting journey instead of just an ordinary PowerPoint presentation in a conference room is a challenge. One solution is reality TV training. Reality TV is everywhere, and there is always something for everyone. This provides a new and innovative way to think about eLearning by using video blended with traditional eLearning and building in “commercials” to convey critical information to new hires about the company. This new approach to learning is fun and entertaining, so that not only are learners anxious to see and learn more, but the information sticks.

Participants in this session will learn how to make the shift in an onboarding program to take the reality TV phenomenon and use it as a powerful eLearning tool. You’ll look at how this format can have a powerful impact on learners, and how to provide a repeatable and consistent learning experience no matter where the learners are located. You will discover the different topics that draw audiences, and the different characters on these shows that people can relate to.

In this session, you will learn:

  • How to write a business case and proposal for creating a reality TV program
  • How to get started writing scripts and outlining the “episodes”
  • Best practices to consider when filming and editing
  • How to incorporate traditional eLearning software and tools to create a complete blended solution
