The challenge: harness and develop young talent around the world, using collaborative technology to connect learners regardless of their physical location, and combine it with on-the-job experience to create an engaging, interactive development environment that provides tangible business results in 12 months. The Cisco Sales Associates program launched 14 globally connected classrooms using telepresence technology and combined them with local work experience in eight countries. The goal was to provide a consistent development experience for the learner, regardless of his or her location. This virtual model required a complete overhaul of curriculum development, management development, global program operations, learner assessment processes, and metrics management. The results have been exciting and have exceeded expectations.
