In November 2016, Articulate launched Articulate 360, which has everything eLearning professionals need for the entire course development process. The annual subscription includes award-winning authoring apps like Storyline 360 and Rise, over 2 million course assets, an easy-to-use project review app, and live online training with industry experts. Articulate subscribers also receive continuous product and asset updates.
“With our new subscription model, we’re getting highly valuable features into customers’ hands faster than ever,” says Articulate CEO Adam Schwartz. “In just under a year after launch, we’ve already shipped more than 65 new features for Articulate 360, and there’s a lot more on the way. It’s truly satisfying to continually deliver features that make our customers’ jobs easier.”
New collaboration features for Articulate 360 Teams
Recently, Articulate added exclusive product features for Articulate 360 Teams subscribers, making it easy for team members to collaborate on Storyline 360 and Rise courses. They can build a shared collection of templates, slides, and scenes that colleagues can access right from within Storyline 360. And they can work together on Rise content, creating and editing courses at the same time. The Articulate 360 Teams plan also provides organizations with simple account management and priority support.
New accessibility features and productivity enhancements in Storyline 360
Since launch, Articulate has added 20 new features to Storyline 360, including several new productivity boosters that let eLearning developers build mobile and online courses with custom interactivity. New features to Storyline 360 include slide layer enhancements and the ability to detect and replace all missing fonts in a project at once. In the past few months, the company has also released several accessibility features. Course developers can now create and edit closed captions in Storyline 360, customize the fonts of closed captions, and let learners toggle them on and off. Storyline 360 also now includes rich tables that communicate to screen readers how data is organized, and a new dial style that gives course developers even more options for creating beautiful interactions.
“I’m really happy with the new closed captions editor in Storyline 360,” says eLearning developer Joe Waddington. “It’s so quick and easy to use. I just copy and paste captions from my script into the caption placeholders. Not having to use a third-party program to create closed captions cut the time I spent captioning my course in half!”
New ways to do more in Rise
Rise makes it easy for anyone to build gorgeous, fully responsive courses in minutes right from a web browser. Over 42 new features have been added to Rise since launch. For example, Rise users can now add photographs and illustrations from the over 2 million assets in Content Library to their courses. They can also publish their Rise courses to Articulate Review to gather stakeholder feedback in one place, speeding project reviews.
Most recently, Articulate has added a Storyline block type in Rise, which lets course developers add a custom Storyline interaction to a Rise course in seconds. That gives course authors the best of both worlds: custom Storyline 360 interactions in gorgeous, inherently responsive Rise courses.
Other new features in Rise include more options for interactivity, more flexibility for course authors, and more ways to share projects. New stackable blocks for creating custom lessons include knowledge check, interactive flashcard, and attachment blocks. eLearning developers can also now add photographic covers to their courses and customize course elements like buttons and lesson headers by changing the label text. And enhancements to the text editor make it simple to format course text with font sizes, bulleted lists, indentations, superscripts, subscripts, and more. Finally, Rise includes new features that allow course authors to share their source files as well as export their courses as xAPI (aka Tin Can) packages.
“Rise has become a go-to tool for all our course development needs,” says Michael Culligan, director of learning solutions architecture at LINGOs. “It’s easy to learn and simple to use, and it lets us get courses done really quickly. Our design and development time is the quickest it’s ever been. And with consistent updates and new features, we can’t wait to see what comes next.”
New gorgeous assets in Content Library
Content Library is an ever-growing library of course assets for creating beautiful courses—fast. At Articulate 360 launch, Content Library included professionally designed slide templates and characters. Since then, Articulate has added new template sets and characters as well as over 2 million royalty-free photographs, illustrations, videos, and icons to Content Library. Course developers can access Content Library assets right from within Storyline 360 and Rise, without interrupting their workflow.
New flexibility in Articulate Review
Articulate Review makes it easy to move projects through the approval process. Stakeholders can view courses and provide consolidated feedback on Articulate 360 content in a web browser—no download required. Articulate has released several new features since launch to make the course review process even easier. For example, eLearning developers can now choose to receive a daily digest of comments, subscribe to specific comments, and even export all comments as a PDF document or CSV file for easy backup or to meet compliance requirements. And reviewers can attach files such as screenshots and course assets to their comments so everyone is on the same page.

“Articulate 360 has been out for a while now, and the updates keep coming,” says eLearning developer Jeff Kortenbosch. “Articulate continues to add powerful new features across all the apps and resources in Articulate 360.”
