510 Evidence-based Practice: A Guild Master Panel

1:15 PM - 2:15 PM Thursday, October 21

Information is everywhere, research is being conducted continually, and being an evidence-based L&D practitioner is critical to bring effective solutions to your organizations. Understanding the who, what, where, why, and how of research is a challenging requirement today but one that is necessary in a complex world of learning and performance.

Join three Guild Masters who have grounded their work in evidence as they share the approaches they use personally and professionally when creating client solutions and presenting findings to the community at large. In this panel discussion we'll examine the realities and myths, discuss the ways to keep up with the flood of material, how to evaluate claims being made, and where to find the most credible material.

In this session you will learn:

  • What should you look for when evaluating an article or a claim from a "thought leader"
  • What do you need to do to follow established research
  • What you can do to keep up with new developments
  • Where you can find credible sources
  • The popular myths that should be staked through the heart and buried under concrete

Audience:

Designers, developers, managers, senior leaders
